Job summary
Avensys Consulting in Singapore is seeking a System Software Engineer DBA to join our global IT services team. You will manage database environments, implement high-availability solutions, and optimize performance across DB2, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
The role requires 5+ years of DBA experience, strong scripting skills, and hands-on work with Windows, Linux, AIX, and Solaris. You will contribute to data modelling, backups, recovery, and cloud database provisioning.
Qualifications
- Recognised degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years Database Administration experience.
- Experience with DB2 (v10+), Oracle Server (v11+), PostgreSQL (v14+).
- Knowledge of SQL Server and MySQL is advantageous.
- Experience in data modelling (ERWIN or equivalent).
- Troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
- Performance tuning and optimization using native tools.
- Backups, restores and recovery models.
- HA/DR options for DB2/Oracle/PostgreSQL.
- Scripting for operational automation.
- Stored Procedures, PL/SQL and SQL.
- Database design, development and performance tuning.
- Cloud database computing experience.
- Experience on Windows, AIX, Linux and Solaris servers.
- AFC system experience is a plus.
