Job summary

BLACK & WHITE ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mission-critical data centre projects, focusing on complex civil and structural facility systems.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with Singapore codes, and drive BIM-enabled workflows from concept through construction to achieve client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) – Singapore registration or working towards (preferred).
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB).
• Familiarity with Singapore codes and authority requirements (PUB, LTA, BCA).
• Membership with Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and co-ordination of building structural works.
• Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Design substructure, superstructure conveyance/support systems, and other related structural/non-structural components.
• Ensure designs align with project requirements, local authority standards, and best practices.
• Manage structural engineering packages from concept through detailed design to construction support.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, civil, BIM) to ensure integrated site design.
• Support authority submissions (e.g., PUB, LTA, BCA) and approvals processes.
• Provide technical input during construction, site inspections, and issue resolution.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities on design and delivery matters.
• Participate in technical meetings and provide expert guidance on civil engineering solutions.
• Support project managers in delivering outcomes aligned with client expectations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support capability building within the civil team.
• Promote technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, constructability, and sustainability.
• Support the adoption of digital engineering and BIM in structural design workflows.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership & Design (Site Infrastructure)

• Lead the design and co-ordination of building structural works

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a Senior Structural Engineer / Civil & Structural Engineer within a consultancy engaged in mission critical infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in building structures design, co-ordination and delivery of large-scale concrete, steel and composite structures
• Related civil engineering experience would be beneficial
• Solid understanding of Singapore authority requirements and submission processes
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary buildings and infrastructure designsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-driven approach with attention to detail and delivery excellence
