Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (JurongHealth Campus) invites applications for Senior / Staff Nurse (Operating Theatre) to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic surgical setting. We welcome candidates with nursing degrees or State Registered Nurse certificates; advanced nursing qualifications are preferred for senior roles and applicants

• Degree or Diploma in Nursing or State Registered Nurse Certificate.
• Advanced Nursing Diploma or equivalent is preferred for Senior.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care with team members and surgeons.
• Assist surgeons by providing instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required.
• Prepare the operating room with equipment, supplies, and consumables for the procedure.
• Check equipment prior to surgery to ensure proper function.
• Monitor patient during anesthesia recovery and provide ongoing care.
• Maintain strict infection control standards throughout the procedure.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for Senior / Staff Nurse (Operating Theatre) (Full / Part-time)to join us to provide high quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

The incumbent shall be responsible to:

• Coordinate patient care needs with team members and the surgeons.
• Work alongside the surgeons providing instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required, and being able to anticipate their needs.
• Prepare the operating room for surgery by procuring appropriate equipment, supplies, consumables and infusions required for the procedure.
• Check all equipment prior to surgery to confirm smooth and proper functioning.
• Handle and operate equipment to be used on patients competently.
• Ensure safety of surgical instruments, equipment and consumables used during the procedure.
• Observe and enforce strict standards of infection control.
• Respond effectively to emergency clinical situations with ability to mobilize available assistance where necessary.
• Monitor patient providing appropriate care and treatment until the patient has recovered from the effects of anaesthesia.
• Perform continuous patient assessment, monitoring, documentation, checking drains and infusions/drugs if in progress.
• Transfer patient after an appropriate period of recovery and observation in the recovery room

Job Requirements:

• Registered with SNB.
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing or State Registered Nurse Certificate.
• Relevant Advanced Nursing Diploma or equivalent is preferred for candidate. applying for Senior Staff Nurse position.
