Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an Engineer/Senior Engineer Firmware Test Engineer for the SSD group to ensure world-class firmware test strategies and automation.

You will own testing across development, qualification, and sustaining phases, design grey-box/white-box tests, analyze failures, and drive regression suites to deliver reliable SSD products for enterprise and automotive markets. Qualifications

• Strong experience in SSD testing and validation: performance, reliability, and stress testing.
• Familiarity with PCIe and NVMe storage interfaces and failure analysis.
• Experience with firmware validation, debugging across HW/FW interactions.
• Experience building scalable validation infrastructure and regression suites.
• Experience with Python-based test automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own and implement SSD firmware test strategies across development, qualification, and sustaining phases.
• Design and implement grey-box/white-box tests for firmware features and system behaviors.
• Analyze failures from regressions, customer issues, and field returns; perform root-cause analysis.
• Drive test automation, regression integration, and coverage reporting.
• Partner with firmware developers and architects on feature validation, debugging, and design reviews.
• Communicate test coverage, risks, and mitigation plans to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in SSD validation and test development.
• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness.
