Job summary

Sourceability is seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA to own the reliability, performance, and recoverability of our SQL Server environments. The role centers on production stability, high availability, DR, backup/recovery, and performance tuning for mission-critical systems.

Hybrid role from our Singapore office. You will partner with software engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, security, QA, and business stakeholders to reduce database-related production risk and improve delivery reliability.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a DBA, database engineer, or similar hands-on production database role.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
Expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, execution plans, indexing, statistics, and query optimization.
Experience with backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high availability in business-critical environments.
Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups, replication, log shipping, or similar HA/DR technologies.
Experience supporting production incidents, root-cause analysis, and post-incident remediation.
Ability to review schema changes, stored procedures, and data access designs with software engineering teams.
Experience collaborating with development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, security, product, and business teams.

Responsibilities

Own day-to-day technical operation, reliability, and recoverability of SQL Server environments.
Support production, QA, UAT, staging, and development databases used by business-critical applications.
Maintain and improve backup, restore, recovery validation, and disaster recovery procedures.
Implement high availability and disaster recovery designs, including AlwaysOn AGs and replication.
Monitor health, performance, storage, jobs, blocking, deadlocks, and backup completion.
Diagnose and resolve performance issues, including slow queries and indexing problems.
Review schema changes and query designs with software engineers before production deployment.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to improve database design and reliability.
Validate deployment scripts, migrations, rollback plans, and production impact.
