Job summary

Seagate Technology in Singapore is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented technician to assemble, install, and test sputtering equipment in a high-tech cleanroom setting. You will work with mechanical and electrical subsystems, read drawings, and perform quality checks, with opportunities to troubleshoot and upgrade systems.

The role requires 3+ years in equipment assembly or maintenance, familiarity with vacuum systems, and a willingness to work 12-hour shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• NITEC or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in equipment assembly or maintenance.
• Experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in cleanroom environments and vacuum systems advantageous.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, align, and integrate mechanical and electrical sub-systems for sputtering equipment based on schematics and build instructions.
• Install components such as vacuum chambers, pumps, valves and control panels.
• Perform functional and quality checks during and after equipment installation.
• Support basic tool troubleshooting and rework for both mechanical and electrical issues.
• Assist with equipment installation, conversion, and upgrades as required.
• Work closely with engineering teams on build improvements and reliability enhancements.
• Adhere to safety and cleanroom standards throughout all assembly and support activities.
• Take proactive role and responsibility
• To lead junior ES to accomplish the task within schedule
