Job summary

Google India in Singapore is seeking a software engineer to help build next-generation systems at scale. You will work across backend Java/Kotlin and frontend JavaScript/TypeScript, contributing to ML model efficiency and on-device classification for Wallet data.

Applicants should have strong data-structures knowledge, 5+ years in software development, and 3 years in full-stack delivery. You will collaborate with partner teams and device manufacturers to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Kotlin, C++, Java).
• 5 years of data structures and algorithms experience.
• 3 years of full-stack development across back-end (Java/Kotlin/Python/Golang/C++) and front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript/HTML/CSS).

Responsibilities

• Own, develop, test, and maintain features for importing pass data from Gmail, Chrome or Android into Google Wallet.
• Evaluate and improve machine learning or Large Language Models (LLM) for on-device classification and server extraction of Wallet data from various file formats.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Product Managers, UX, TPMs, Legal, and other teams to deliver solutions.
• Engage with external partners to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and launch integrations.

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Kotlin, C++, Java).

• Experience with full-stack, including designing and integrating with server-side APIs to support client features.
• Experience optimizing system performance, reducing latency, and improving ML model efficiency.
• Experience with multimodal machine learning or image classification.
• Experience with Android mobile app development (e.g., Kotlin, Java).
• Experience working with external partners and device manufacturers.

• Own, develop, test, and maintain features for importing pass data from Gmail, Chrome or Android into Google Wallet. This includes verticals such as receipts, flight reservations, loyalty cards, event tickets, offers, and hotel reservations.
• Evaluate and improve machine learning or Large Language Models (LLM) for on-device classification and server extraction of Wallet data from various file formats like PDF, Images or other multimodal input.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Product Managers, UX, Technical Program Managers, Legal, and other teams (like Chrome and Gmail intelligence teams) to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Engage with external partners to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and launch new integrations.
