Job summary

Cornerstone Global Partners, Singapore, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (System) to design, develop, maintain and deliver enterprise software solutions for an Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system.

You will collaborate with users, business analysts and back-office teams across the SDLC, applying modern software engineering practices, containerisation, microservices and CI/CD. Strong Java/JEE, SQL and cloud skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in enterprise software development.
• Hands-on SDLC experience and documentation.
• Strong Java/JEE and SQL expertise.
• Experience with Agile and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of containerisation and microservices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business and system requirements.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software applications across the SDLC.
• Prepare and maintain SDLC deliverables including requirements, architecture, interface specs and manuals.
• Provide day-to-day application support and troubleshoot production issues.
• Liaise with users and stakeholders on requirements, design and testing.
• Collaborate with back-office teams to deliver software solutions.
• Design high-volume, performance-intensive AFC components.
• Contribute to modernisation, containerisation, microservices and CI initiatives.
• Support database design, development and performance tuning.
• Apply engineering best practices for reliability, scalability and maintainability.
