Job summary

ACP Computer Training School is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop and deliver an AFC system and back office software. You will work with the development team to gather requirements, document SDLC artifacts, and support day-to-day operation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in enterprise apps, strong Java/JEE, Spring, cloud, containerization and microservices experience, plus communication skills in English. Knowledge of AFC, PCI DSS, Solace is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/IT/Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience across a full SDLC with SDLC documentation.
• Extensive Java/JEE, web apps on UNIX/Linux and Windows.
• Web app development and DB interfacing (JDBC/SQL).
• Experience with Agile, Spring Framework, Spring Boot.
• Experience in modernization, containers, microservices.
• Experience with message queues and Solace.
• Cloud computing, Kubernetes, Docker; AWS services a plus.
• DB design, performance tuning; AFC and PCI DSS knowledge a plus.
• Strong analytical and English communication skills.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Working with the development team, you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing and delivery of the software solution for an Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system or a high volume and performance intensive back office of an AFC system.
The activities required to be performed shall include the following:

• Requirements gathering;
• Design, development, and maintenance of the software;
• Preparation and submission of deliverables throughout the software development lifecycles such as Business Rules, Software Requirement Specifications, Software Architecture Document, Design Specification, Interface Specifications, Source Codes, Testing Specification, Operation and Maintenance Manual, Training Manual and others documents as required in the standard adopted by the Authority;
• Assist the Authority with day-to-day application support issues; and
• Liaise with users on the requirement, design and testing issues.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Recognised degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering with at least 5 years' relevant experience;
• Gone through at least one full software development lifecycle (SDLC) with experience in producing SDLC documentations;
• Extensive experience in analysing requirements, designing, development and delivering complex enterprise applications inJava/JEE, web programming on UNIX / LINUX and Windows environment;
• Extensive experience in web-based applications development and database application interfacing (JDBC, SQL);
• Experience in Agile development methodology and continuous integration;
• Experience in Spring Framework and Spring Boot;
• Extensive experience in Software Modernization, Containerization, Microservices;
• Experience in Message Queues;
• Experience in Solace;
• Experience in Cloud Computing, Kubernetes & Dockers, AWS Services like Amazon ECS Fargate, AWS RDS & Lambda will be an advantage.
• Experience in database design, development and performance tuning;
• Experience in Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system will be an advantage;
• Experience in EMV and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) will be an advantage;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Key consideration:

1. Extensive experience in analysing requirements, designing, development and delivering complex enterprise applications in Java/JEE, web programming on UNIX / LINUX and Windows environment;
2. Proficiency with database programming such as SQL and DAO, and relevant experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL

5. Proficiency in AWS ECS and Docker containerization, with a solid understanding of DevOps principles and best practices
