Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a software engineer to develop and maintain efficient, robust software for metrology systems. You will translate customer needs into software requirements, improve performance, and quickly analyze and resolve issues reported by customers.

You will work from a systems perspective on metrology tool platforms and collaborate with a diverse team to deliver reliable solutions. The role emphasizes clear communication, independent work as well as teamwork, and a strong

• MS in Physics or related field, 2+ years of professional C++ coding.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Quickly analyze and resolve issues reported by internal and external customers. Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary. Understand metrology tool platforms and technologies from a systems perspective. Demonstrate effective communication skills within a diverse team.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: MS in Physics or another scientific discipline. 2+ years of experience coding professionally in C++. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.

Preferred Education and Experience

PhD in Physics or another scientific discipline.

Experience with machine learning is a plus.
