Job summary

WOH HUP ENGINEERING PTE. LTD.

is seeking a Senior Site Engineer (Utility) to assist the Construction Manager with site progress, manpower planning and coordination on Singapore underground MRT and civil projects. You will manage utility diversion design, liaise with authorities and subcontractors, prepare method statements, monitor schedules and safety, and supervise engineers and foremen to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.
• At least eight years of Singapore experience in underground MRT / civil projects, with utility diversion work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the design of utility diversion routes, supporting structures and other required structures.
• Coordinate with authorities and sub-contractors to facilitate work progress.
• Engage and liaise with approved subcontractors for services diversion works.
• Approval request submission to relevant authorities for services diversion and traffic diversion at site.
• Incorporate utility diversion plan into the construction schedule.
• Plan for reinstatement and monitor master construction program.
• Prepare detailed programs for site team to follow and complete on time.
• Resolve drawing discrepancies and technical difficulties with the technical team.
• Liaise with Consultants on submissions related to structural works and technical department.
• Prepare detailed method statements and work instructions for construction.
• Monitor and supervise engineers/foremen, ensuring quality procedures and workmanship.

Job description

The Senior Site Engineer (Utility) is responsible for assisting the Construction Manager on the progress of site works and manpower related aspects of the project.

A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Assist in managing the design of utility diversion routes, supporting structures, and other required structures.
• Coordinate with authorities and sub-contractor to facilitate the work progress such as PUB, SPPG, etc.
• Engage and liaise with the approved subcontractors for any services diversion works.
• Approval request submission to relevant authorities for services diversion and traffic diversion at site.
• Incorporate utility diversion plan to the construction schedule.
• Planning for reinstatement.
• Monitor and review master construction program and preparation of catch-up program, if applicable.
• Preparation of detailed program for the site team to follow accordingly & completed in time.
• Resolve drawing discrepancies & technical difficulties with Technical team
• Liaise with the Consultants on the submission related to structural works and Technical Department.
• Preparation of detailed method statements and work instructions for construction.
• Monitor and supervise Engineer / foremen, ensure compliance to the quality procedures & standard of workmanship. Checking on quality and quantity of work by subcontractors.
• Plan all works on site, including program schedules and construction methods, forecast equipment, material and manpower requirement, and control usage and wastages of all.
• Coordinates between sub-contractors/vendors/internal departments and monitor site manpower / material / equipment demands to meet schedules.
• Management of approval, process and documentation for utilities & services
• Coordinate with utility agencies or authorities and other relevant stakeholders for relocation of existing utility at work site and utility diversion proposal
• Supervise utility diversion and trail trench works
• Adherence to safety practices in the work place.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Education: Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University
• Experience: Prior 8 years of experience in Singapore underground MRT / Civil projects, and experience in utility diversion work is required.
