Job summary

SHANGHAI TUNNEL ENGINEERING CO (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD is seeking a Civil Engineer to oversee heavy civil works and MRT/infrastructure projects in Singapore. You will liaise with LTA, QPS and other government authorities, and develop practical solutions on site using engineering principles.

You will plan work and resources to ensure timely progress, coordinate with subcontractors, supervisors, surveyors, lab personnel, foremen, and provide regular reports to the Construction/Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil engineering / MRT / infrastructure projects.
• Able to work independently with strong technical, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Liaise to LTA, QPS and other government authorities.
• Attend to technical matters at site by developing solutions to problems with the application of engineering concepts, practices and techniques.
• Plan of work and resources with reference to work program to ensure timely progress.
• Close coordination with sub-contractors, supervisors, surveyors, laboratory personnel, foremen and to ensure effective teamwork.
• Provide relevant information and reports to Construction/Project Manager regularly.
• Liaise with consultants on day-to-day inspection on site.
• Sort out discrepancies and detailing problems in construction works with consultants and superiors.
• Implement policies, procedures and work instructions as defined in QSHE requirements.
• Assist Const manager to prepare daily/weekly/monthly site reports and submit to planning department.
• Prepare MS, material and equipment requests.
