Qualifications

Position Overview

Prosegur Singapore is looking for diligent and alert individuals to join our security team as Officers on Jurong Island. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates who are looking to start a career in the security industry. As an Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets, and upholding the high standards expected by Prosegur and our clients. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to act decisively in various situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Access Control: Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring that only authorized personnel and vehicles are permitted entry. This includes verifying identification, checking passes, and maintaining logs.
• Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the premises to detect and deter any suspicious activities, security breaches, or safety hazards. Utilize surveillance equipment, such as CCTV systems, to monitor activities and respond to any alerts.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents. This may involve initial assessment, containment, reporting, and assisting emergency services.
• Vigilance: Maintain a constant state of vigilance to identify and report any safety concerns, potential risks, or non-compliance with site regulations. This includes checking for unsecured areas, potential fire hazards, or other risks.
• Reporting: Accurately and thoroughly document all activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with Prosegur's reporting procedures. This includes daily logs, incident reports, and any other required documentation.
• Customer Service: Provide a professional and courteous presence to visitors, employees, and contractors, assisting them with inquiries and directing them as needed while maintaining security protocols.
• Adherence to Protocols: Strictly adhere to all site-specific security procedures, company policies, and legal requirements.
• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other security personnel and site management to ensure a cohesive and robust security operation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: A minimum of a secondary school education is required.
• Citizenship/Residency: Must be a Singaporean Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of a security officer, which may include prolonged standing, walking, and potentially working in various weather conditions.
• Language Proficiency: Good command of English, both written and spoken, is essential for clear communication and accurate reporting.
• PRD License with PAPP: Candidates must possess a valid Private Detective Agency (PDA) license and have completed the Security Industry Regulatory Department (SIRG) Personnel & Security Promotion Programme (PAPP) or be willing to undergo training to obtain these qualifications.
• Clean Record: Must have a clean criminal record and be able to pass security vetting.
• Shift Work: Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the operational needs of Jurong Island.
• Attitude: A proactive, responsible, and ethical approach to security duties. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound judgments.
