STX COMMODITIES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Sales Trader / Originator to lead EAC trading and origination across APAC from Singapore.

You will originate, develop and manage a counterparty portfolio, while building two-way market flows and long-term commercial relationships. You will engage corporates, utilities and developers across Asia Pacific, analyzing regional supply/demand dynamics and translating insights into profitable trading opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience in commodities or energy markets.
• Proven track record in origination, sales or trading.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to generate profitable business.
• Existing APAC network; Singapore/SEA knowledge preferred.
• Ability to originate opportunities and build new client relationships.
• Deep understanding of commodity markets and regulatory frameworks.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive with ownership.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management.
• Comfortable in fast-moving trading environments across time zones.
• Fluent in English.

Job description

TEAM AND ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Sales Trader / Originator to join our APAC team with a primary focus on Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) markets across the region.

Based in our Singapore office, you will be part of the commercial team responsible for growing STX’s EAC trading and origination business across Asia Pacific. The role combines counterparty origination, sales and trading, with a strong focus on building new business, developing two-way market flows and establishing long-term commercial relationships.

You will work across EAC markets throughout APAC, engaging with corporates, utilities, renewable energy developers, intermediaries and other market participants. You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of regional supply and demand dynamics, identify trading opportunities and take commercial ownership from initial origination through execution and repeat business. By working strategically to offer counterparties sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.

You will work closely with STX’s broader APAC and global trading teams. While EACs will be the core focus of the role, we encourage a broader commercial mindset and the identification of opportunities across adjacent environmental commodity markets.

This is a highly commercial role for someone who enjoys building markets, identifying opportunities and turning relationships and market knowledge into profitable trading activity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Originate, develop and manage a portfolio of counterparties across APAC, with a primary focus on EAC markets

• Actively develop both supply and demand relationships across different market participants

• Identify, structure and execute EAC trading opportunities across regional markets and products

• Build and maintain strong long-term counterparty relationships, with a focus on generating recurring and profitable trading flows

• Develop new business through active prospecting and expansion of STX’s commercial network across APAC

• Maintain a strong understanding of regional EAC market fundamentals, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing, regulation and market developments

• Translate market intelligence and client conversations into actionable trading and origination opportunities

• Own the commercial process from initial engagement and price discovery through negotiation, execution and ongoing account development

• Work closely with the wider APAC and global trading teams to optimize positions, share market intelligence and identify cross-market opportunities

• Maintain awareness of adjacent environmental commodity markets and identify relevant opportunities where these complement STX’s broader APAC business

• Contribute to the continued development of STX’s EAC trading strategy, market coverage and commercial presence across APAC

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• +5 years of relevant commercial experience in commodities, energy, environmental markets or a closely related sector

• Demonstrated track record in business development, origination, sales and/or trading

• Strong commercial mindset with a clear focus on generating and growing profitable business

• Existing network and market knowledge across APAC; experience in Singapore and Southeast Asian markets is strongly preferred

• Ability to independently originate opportunities and develop new client relationships rather than solely manage an existing portfolio

• Strong understanding of commodity markets and the ability to quickly develop expertise across new products and regulatory frameworks

• Entrepreneurial and proactive approach, with a high degree of ownership and accountability

• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills

• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving trading environment and working across different markets, cultures and time zones

• Ability to collaborate effectively with trading, sales, operations, legal and compliance teams

• Professional fluency in English
