Kake, a remote-first, people-first global community of engineers, is seeking Senior Rust Engineers to own scalable backend services and distributed systems. You will design high-performance, memory-safe code in Rust and lead architectural decisions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of software engineering, deep Rust knowledge, experience with Tokio and async, and comfort working across time zones. This role offers USD pay, fully remote, and a culture focused on growth and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on Rust.
• Deep understanding of Rust ownership, lifetimes, and macros.
• Experience with systems programming, concurrency and performance.
• Hands-on async Rust with frameworks like Tokio.
• Comfortable with Rust toolchain, Cargo, git workflows and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, memory-safe backend services in Rust.
• Develop distributed systems with high performance and reliability.
• Write concurrent code and optimize for low-latency operations.
• Lead architectural decisions and promote engineering best practices.
• Maintain asynchronous services using Tokio and async/await patterns.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive improvements.
• Contribute to tooling, workflows, and continuous delivery.
