Job summary

Liberty Specialty Markets Singapore Pte Limited is seeking a Senior Risk Engineer to provide technical risk assessments for the Casualty line, supporting Underwriting and Claims teams. The role combines desk reviews with on-site surveys to evaluate 3rd party liability exposures and mitigation opportunities.

You will plan risk appraisals, conduct on-site surveys, and own assigned accounts while keeping up-to-date with practices, regulatory changes, and industry developments.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in general (non-life) insurance.
• Experience in managerial, technical, or consultancy roles in listed domains.
• Strong PC-based software knowledge (Office suite and databases).
• Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and perform desk-based risk appraisals for the Casualty line to provide risk analysis information to Underwriters.
• Conduct on-site risk engineering surveys and produce reports for Underwriters, Brokers, or Clients as required by Liberty guidelines.
• Own allocated accounts, attend surveys, and follow up on key recommendations.
• Provide technical input on claims including review of claims reports and site visits for mitigation recommendations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Casualty practices, safety management, and regulatory developments.
• Participate in business development and marketing activities for Casualty.
• Collaborate with claims, underwriters, and stakeholders to deliver integrated risk engineering services.
• Provide training to Risk Engineers and present training to brokers and industry stakeholders.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold Liberty core values.
• Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and corporate requirements; pursue continued professional development.
• Seek continuous improvement of practices and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
