Job summary

Liberty Specialty Markets Singapore Pte Limited is seeking an Assistant Underwriter to contribute to growth of the Crisis Management line through pre-underwriting, marketing, and managing standard risks. You will work under moderate supervision within defined authority, supporting the underwriting team on new and renewal business.

You will establish broker/client relationships, assist in rating/underwriting, and help shape marketing strategies while ensuring high service levels and compliance

Qualifications

• General (non-Life) insurance experience preferred.
• Experience working with brokers or insurance companies.
• Proficiency with MS Office and database tools.
• Open to candidates with food science/technology backgrounds seeking a career switch.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to market Liberty products.
• Assist underwriting team in reviewing, rating and underwriting target new and renewal business.
• Develop selling and negotiation strategies to contribute to profitability of the product line.
• Provide high level underwriting service and differentiate Liberty from competitors.
• Contribute to product development and marketing plans including market research and competitor analysis.
• Review and negotiate policy terms and endorsements; assist with manuscript wordings.
• Represent Liberty at industry events and maintain Liberty brand in the market.
• Coordinate with Claims, Risk Management and Operations to ensure seamless underwriting services.
• Mentor and develop Underwriting Assistants when required.
• Assist in audits and ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
