Job summary

Nutanix is seeking a Services Consultant to join our global Services Delivery team. You will provide day-one IT virtualization consulting and day-two operations support, collaborating with architects, SMEs, and customer teams to implement and optimize Nutanix environments.

The role requires strong problem-solving, customer-facing skills, and a willingness to travel 20-40% with a hybrid in-office schedule 2-3 days per week. Prior VMware/Nutanix certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in system administration and virtualization technologies.
• Deep knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV and Hyper-V/VMware ESXi or similar converged platforms.
• Ability to independently analyze and diagnose highly complex problems across multiple platforms.
• Strong customer-centric communication skills and ability to present to groups.
• Experience with white-boarding sessions and customer-focused documentation.
• Experience migrating workloads (P2V and V2V).
• Understanding of storage and data protection technologies (replication, snapshots, backup, restore).
• Exposure to automation and scripting preferred (Python/PowerShell).
• Willingness to travel 20-40% and work in a hybrid office/onsite model.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Nutanix implementations and virtual infrastructure operations support across customer environments.
• Collaborate with customer IT teams onsite and remotely to meet short- and long-term objectives (OLA alignment).
• Leverage Nutanix best practices with architects/SMEs to accelerate adoption and expansion of Nutanix environments.
• Identify and communicate new opportunities to the Nutanix Sales Team; provide ongoing status reporting.
• Participate in practice development and soft/technical skill development to stay current with industry trends.

About the Team

As a potential job applicant considering a role at Nutanix, you would be joining the Services Delivery team as part of a global organisation. You would be delivering cutting-edge day-one IT virtualisation consulting services and day-two IT virtualisation operations support. You will report to the Senior Manager of Professional Services and work in a hybrid Services delivery model, where you are required to be in the office 2-3 days per week when not working at a customer site. This arrangement allows for a balance between collaborative in-person work and the flexibility to work remotely. Additionally, the role may require 20-40% travel, including visits to domestic client sites. There may also be exciting opportunities to travel overseas for internal team events or training sessions, providing a global perspective and fostering cross-cultural collaboration within the organization.

Your Role

• Participate in service delivery and working with a customer's IT team (both onsite and remote) and be recognised as a leading member for Nutanix product implementation, operation, and administration.

• Clarify and comprehend the customer's short—and long-term IT objectives or OLA and align yourself with your day-to-day activities.

• Leveraging extensive knowledge of Nutanix products and features to assist customers in planning strategic implementations and/or operations support for their Nutanix environment.

• Be responsible for delivering Nutanix Implementations and/or Virtual Infra operations support.

• Leverage Nutanix IP by working collaboratively with architects/SMEs to blend Nutanix best practices to accelerate the adoption and expansion of their Nutanix environment.

• Be proactive and actively assume, assess, and identify possible areas of improvement in the customer's IT environment.

• Collaborates with the Nutanix Sales Team in identifying and communicating new opportunities and ongoing customer status and reporting.

• Participation in practice development and soft and technical skill development is required to keep up with the rapidly growing industry.

• Based on your management's direction, part of your workload may cover related Nutanix service offerings or spot engagements within Services Consulting or Residency.

What You Will Bring

• Sound experience of 10+ years in system administration and virtualization technologies

• Excellent knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV and/or Hyper-V / VMware ESXi or other converged or hyperconverged platforms.

• Able to independently analyse and diagnose highly complex problems across different platforms.

• Customer centric approach, excellent communication skills

• High level of comfort performing white boarding sessions, group presentations, and other customer centric documentation

• Migration of workload, both P2V and V2V.

• Understanding of storage technologies and data protection technologies like replication, snapshots, backup, restore, etc.

• Exposure to Automation and scripting is preferred. Python/PowerShell scripting to automate tasks (Desirable)

• Mandatory Certification:

VMware certification such as VCP or VCAP OR

Nutanix Certified Professional – Multi-cloud Infrastructu

• Desired Certification:

• Nutanix Certified Professional – Multi-cloud Automation - We can enable the candidate on this skillset, but he/she should be open to learn this

• Nutanix Certified Master – Multi-cloud Infrastructure - We can enable the candidate, and have him/her take up the certification
