Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Researcher / Senior Researcher to contribute to CCS research initiatives in Singapore. The role involves developing advanced CCS technologies, modelling, and PoC activities with strong collaboration across global research teams and customers.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s or PhD in a related field, have 3+ years of CCS experience, and possess hands-on geological analysis, MRV solution expertise, and excellent communication skills for stakeholder

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Geological Analytics, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in CCS (carbon capture and storage) including assessment, modelling and prediction.
• Experience in service design and customer-facing activities.
• Strong hands-on capability in geological analysis and MRV solutions.
• Knowledge of carbon capture concepts and applications; design thinking demonstrated.
• Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research activities and develop advanced technology/solutions for CCS.
• Create service design and business models for deployment.
• Perform PoC to demonstrate value with real-world application.
• Engage with customers, study requirements and propose solutions.
• Create proposals, presentations, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with global research teams and partners to deliver solutions.
