Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a recognised Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
• AHPC registration with the Allied Health Professions Council is required.
• Experienced candidates may be considered for Senior radiographer roles.
• Experience with sonography or higher modalities (MRI, CT) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provides imaging services to patients as requested by referring physicians and regulatory standards.
• Ensure familiarization with imaging equipment and proper usage to prevent errors.
• Conduct quality assurance tests on equipment prior to patient use.
• Support doctors, nurses and staff by demonstrating empathy, respect and dignity.
• Ensure compliance with radiology safety policies.
• Collaborate with PACS administrator to ensure correct study transmission and storage.
• Supervise and guide junior radiographers.

Job description

Key responsibilities:

• Provides imaging services to patients as requested by referring physicians or as allowed by statutory regulations and according to acceptable standards.
• To ensure familiarization of use and correct handling of imaging equipment to avoid incorrect equipment usage.
• To conduct necessary quality assurance tests before equipment is used on patients.
• Support the team (doctors, nurses and support staff) in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
• To ensure compliance of radiology safety policy.
• Work closely with Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) administrator to ensure studies are sent and stored in the PACS correctly without errors.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior radiographers.

Requirement

• Recognised Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
• Registered with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Experienced candidates will be considered for Senior roles.
• Experience with sonography or other higher modality (MRI, CT Scan etc) will be an advantage.
