Job summary

Oliver Ho & Associates in Singapore seeks a Quantity Surveyor to conduct feasibility studies, prepare cost estimates, and advise on procurement for major construction projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a BSc (or higher) in Quantity Surveying.

About the role:

This role involves conducting feasibility studies, estimating costs, providing procurement advice, drafting contracts, conducting cost analysis, managing project budgets and risks, and communicating with stakeholders on construction projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Conducting feasibility studies by analyzing site conditions, materials, labor, equipment costs, and regulatory and environmental requirements

• Providing clients with accurate cost estimates based on scope of work, project timelines, and other relevant factors

• Advising clients on the best procurement strategy based on project complexity, risk, and value for money

• Drafting construction contracts that are legally sound, reflect client needs, and are fair to all parties

• Analyzing cost data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings

• Developing and managing budgets for construction projects to ensure they remain within financial constraints

• Identifying and managing risks associated with construction projects and developing mitigation strategies

• Communicating project progress, financial status, and other relevant information to stakeholders

About you

• Qualified with a BSc (or higher) in Quantity Surveying

• Minimum of 2 years experience & above with both private and public sector clients on major projects

• Working knowledge of SIA and PSSCOC forms of contract

• Knowledge and understanding of component parts of a project and overall construction costs

• Competent knowledge of a range of project procurement options

• Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both internally and with clients

• IT skills such as Office, Outlook, BIM / CAD measure, Cubicost, AI Software

• Good organizational skills and self-motivation

• Ability to make informed decisions and work unsupervised when necessary

• APQS / SISV membership advantageous
