Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Singapore is seeking a Project & Development Services QS/Cost Consultant. You will assist in cost planning, prepare Bills of Quantities, and support tender documents while advising clients on procurement strategies.

You will coordinate with engineers, designers and owners, manage pre-qualification and tender processes, and evaluate contracts, finalising accounts and payments. A strong emphasis on detail and negotiation is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in QS/M&E Engineering, or equivalent.
• Up to eight years’ experience in QS/Cost Consultancy.
• Experience in pre-construction and construction phases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tech-savvy.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of cost plans including taking off quantities and pricing for projects.
• Confer with engineers, architects, designers and owners on changes and adjustments to cost plans.
• Advise clients on procurement strategies.
• Support pre-qualification and evaluation of contractors.
• Assist in preparation of tender documents and management of tender process.
• Compare tender returns and assist clients in pricing negotiations with contractors.
• Evaluate contracts and administer contracts for clients (valuations, variations, final accounts).
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Certify final payment claims and prepare cost reports for client sign-off.
• Provide cost advisory support across all project stages from feasibility to final account.
• Thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines and high expectations.
• Other duties as assigned.

What this job involves

• Evaluate contract and administer contracts on behalf of clients, including valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, design consultants and contractors.
• Certify final payment claims and prepare cost reports, including finalisation of the account, for client sign-off.
• Provide cost advisory support to clients across all project stages, from feasibility through to final account.
• Thrive under pressure and deal effectively with tight deadlines and high expectations.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in a relevant field (QS/M&E Engineering), and/or up to eight years’ experience (SQS) in a similar QS/Cost Consultancy position.
• Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
• Have good experience in the pre-construction as well as the construction phase of projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technologically savvy.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Attention to detail.
• A great communicator with superb organizational skills.
• A structured and organized approach with an eye for detail is also crucial, as is being tech-savvy.
