Job summary

EXPONENT PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a Quantity Surveyor to support interior design projects, handling tender evaluation, cost analysis and contract administration to ensure accuracy and compliance throughout project execution.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying or related field and 3–4 years of experience in construction, with proficiency in cost estimation and material costing for M&E or interior design projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of quantity surveying experience in construction (M&E or interior design).
• Knowledge of building contracts and risk management.
• Proficient in material costing and cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate tender drawings and documents to identify discrepancies and add BOQ items.
• Liaise with consultants to clarify contract scope ambiguities for accurate tender submissions.
• Source at least three quotations from vendors and subcontractors for start-rated items.
• Prepare bills of quantities with Design, Procurement, and Finance to ensure costing.
• Assist in costing, pricing, and analyzing direct and indirect costs for BOQ items.
• Conduct site visits to take measurements and monitor progress.
• Review site requisitions against approved BOQs for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze subcontractor progress and recommend payments; issue payment requests.
• Submit and negotiate contract variations and maintenance orders.
• Perform ad-hoc duties to support objectives.
