Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to develop quality control processes and conduct inspections on welding works. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in construction. Proficiency in MS Office and a certification like CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS CWI/SCWI is required. This role offers a 5.5-day work week with alternate Saturdays off.

• Holding a certificate of CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS CWI/SCWI.
• Audit (internal) knowledge is an advantage.

• Helps develop and implement quality control processes, analyzing quality data, and recommending corrective actions to ensure the quality of products and services meet customer requirements.
• Prepares the Project Quality plans and Inspection Test plans according to project specifications.
• Prepares welding procedure specification and conduct welder qualification tests.
• Prepares quality control procedures and repair procedures for welding.
• Conducts stage-wise inspections like material/fit up/visual/bolt tightening/painting for fabrication and erection works.
• Review and witness non-destructive testing like ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle testing.
• Liaises with Project Managers/Engineers for day-to-day inspection activities at the shop/site.
• Attends weekly meetings and coordinates with clients.
• Liaises with Client inspectors / third-party inspectors.
• Maintains good documentation.
• Undertaking duties and/or responsibilities as and when appropriately assigned by the HOD.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control (welding works) in construction or related industry.
• Holding a certificate of CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS CWI/SCWI.
• Experience in inspection activities in fabrication and erection works.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office/Excel/MS Word/PowerPoint.
• Knowledgeable in codes like ASME / AWS D1.1/ BS EN and ISO standards.
• Audit (internal) knowledge is an advantage.
• 5.5 day work week (Alternate Saturday Off)
