Job summary

NV5 PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking an experienced Building Services Project Manager to lead the planning, design, procurement and handover of institutional building projects in Singapore. The role requires coordination with internal teams and external consultants to ensure timelines, budgets and safety standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, about five years of project management experience in building services, and strong English and Chinese

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or related disciplines.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant project management experience.
• Experience in developing and managing building services projects for institutional facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop building services systems from inception to handover for new capital, addition and alteration projects.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and provide technical support and expert advice on discipline-related issues.
• Manage and monitor the performance of building services consultants and contractors.
• Coordinate with the project team to produce preliminary and detailed designs, tender/construction documents, and manage procurement and construction processes.
• Monitor and review the technical design and specification to ensure project requirements are incorporated into drawings and specs.
• Implement progress, quality and budgetary control.
• Oversee installation work of building services systems and contractor performance.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Project Director.

Responsibilities

• Manage, plan and develop building services systems from project inception, design, contract procurement, site execution to handover for new capital, addition and alternation as well as improvement projects to ensure the projects are accomplished in time, within budget, and up to required quality and safety standards
• Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders in accomplishing project objectives, and provide technical support and expert advice on discipline-related issues to other members of the project team
• Manage and monitor the performance of building services consultants and contractors
• Coordinate with the project team to produce preliminary and detailed designs, tender/construction documents, and to manage the procurement and construction process
• Monitor and review the technical design and specification to ensure that project requirements are incorporated effectively into detailed design, works contract drawings and specifications
• Implement progress, quality and budgetary control
• Manage and oversee the installation work of the building services systems and the performance of contractors and sub-contractors; and
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Project Director

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or related disciplines plus approximate 5 years of relevant experience in project management of building development
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Good analytical and organizational skills, strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently
• Member of HKIE, CIBSE, IMechE or other equivalent professional bodies is an advantage
• Experience in developing and managing R&D offices, university/institutional buildings, hospital and laboratory is preferred
