Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer to support product lifecycle from design to mass production. You will lead product transfer, perform data analysis, and apply DOE/FMEA to optimize quality and cost. Expect cross-functional collaboration and mentorship for junior staff.

Expertise in GD&T, DFMA, thermodynamics, CAD/PLM, and data analytics will drive process improvements across sites and ensure robust, reliable products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years related experience or 3 years with Master’s/PhD.
• Deep expertise in mechanical design, GD&T, and DFMA.
• Strong thermodynamics, heat transfer, optics, and fluidics knowledge.
• Proficient CAD and PLM; data analytics with Excel, Minitab, JMP.

Responsibilities

• Lead product transfer readiness for manufacturing and NPI.
• Perform data trending, DOE, and FMEA to optimize quality and costs.
• Control change processes (ECR/CRs) and validate tests.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across sites.
