Job summary

Land Transport Authority (LTA) is building an enterprise Design System within its ITCD division to deliver consistent, accessible digital products. You will help establish reusable UI foundations and contribute to end-to-end product design for enterprise projects.

You will collaborate with product teams and developers to ensure alignment from design to implementation, drive documentation, and support adoption across teams with research, wireframes, and prototypes.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in product or UX/UI design.
• Experience building a Design System from the ground up.
• End-to-end product design for web/enterprise apps.
• Experience creating reusable components and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, development, and improvement of the Design System.
• Build scalable design foundations: colour, typography, spacing, layouts, iconography, accessibility.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, and templates with guidelines.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to align components with implementation.
• Support adoption by guiding usage, reviewing components, and identifying improvements.
• Lead discovery workshops, research, and produce journey maps and user flows.
• Create wireframes and high-fidelity designs; run usability tests and QA before handoff.

Job description

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is a Singapore government statutory board responsible for planning, operating, and maintaining the nation's land transport infrastructure and systems. Its IT and Corporate Development (ITCD) division is establishing an enterprise Design System to provide a consistent and scalable foundation for LTA's digital products and services.

The role

This position sits within LTA's ITCD division and focuses on building and evolving the enterprise Design System, while also contributing to end-to-end product design work across digital projects. You would work closely with product teams, engineers, and fellow designers to establish reusable design foundations, UI components, and guidelines that improve consistency, accessibility, and usability across LTA's digital services.

What you would do

• Contribute to the planning, development, and continuous improvement of LTA's enterprise Design System.
• Help establish scalable design foundations covering colour, typography, spacing, layouts, iconography, and accessibility standards.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, and templates, and contribute to documentation, usage guidelines, and best practices.
• Work closely with front-end developers to align design components with implementation.
• Support Design System adoption by providing guidance, reviewing component usage across teams, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Facilitate discovery workshops, conduct user and stakeholder research, and produce journey maps and user flows.
• Create wireframes, high-fidelity interface designs, and interactive prototypes, and carry out usability testing and design QA through to developer handoff.

What they are looking for

• 3 to 5 or more years of experience in product design, UX design, or UI design.
• Demonstrated experience building or playing a significant role in establishing a Design System from the ground up.
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end product design for web or enterprise applications.
• Experience creating reusable component libraries, design foundations, and documentation.
• Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams and collaborating closely with developers.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including Variables, Component Properties, and Interactive Components.
• Strong understanding of design systems, design tokens, and reusable component architecture.
• Solid knowledge of UX research, interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles.
• Good understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design.
• A background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.

Working arrangements

This role is based on-site in Singapore and is a full-time position.
