Job summary

Land Transport Authority in Singapore is seeking a Lead/Principal/Senior Product Designer (Design System) to help build and evolve an enterprise Design System and support end-to-end product design across digital services.

You will contribute to reusable foundations, UI components and guidelines, collaborating with product teams, engineers and other designers to ensure accessibility, usability and consistency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Design or UI Design.
• Proven experience establishing a Design System from the ground up.
• Experience delivering end-to-end product design for web or enterprise applications.

What the role is:

LEAD / PRINCIPAL / SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER (DESIGN SYSTEM)

What you will be working on:

LTA is establishing an enterprise Design System to provide a consistent and scalable foundation for its digital products and services.

As a Product Designer, you will contribute to the building and evolution of the Design System while supporting the delivery of intuitive, accessible and user-centred digital products. Working closely with product teams, engineers and fellow designers, you will help establish reusable design foundations, UI components and guidelines that improve consistency, accessibility and usability across LTA's digital services.

In addition to Design System work, you will also contribute to end-to-end product design activities where required, supporting projects from discovery through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Design System

• Contribute to the planning, development and continuous improvement of LTA's enterprise Design System.
• Help establish scalable design foundations, including colour, typography, spacing, layouts, iconography and accessibility standards.
• Design, build and maintain reusable UI components, patterns and templates. Contribute to Design System documentation, usage guidelines and best practices.
• Work closely with front-end developers to align design components with implementation.
• Support Design System adoption by providing guidance, reviewing component usage across teams and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Product Design

Support the delivery of user-centred digital products by contributing throughout the design process which include:

• Facilitate discovery workshops
• User and stakeholder research
• Journey mapping and user flows
• Information architecture
• Wireframing
• High-fidelity interface design
• Interactive prototyping
• Usability testing
• Design QA and developer handoff Experience

• 3-5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Design or UI Design.
• Demonstrated experience building or playing a significant role in establishing a Design System from the ground up.
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end product design for web or enterprise applications.
• Experience creating reusable component libraries, design foundations and documentation.
• Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience collaborating closely with developers to ensure high-quality implementation.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including Variables, Component Properties, and Interactive Components.
• Strong understanding of design systems, design tokens and reusable component architecture.
• Solid knowledge of UX research, interaction design, information architecture and usability principles.
• Good understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design.

What we are looking for:

• Knowledge in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in Product Management, Agile, Scrum, Cloud or AI technologies will be an advantage.

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in Product Management, Digital Transformation, Enterprise Platforms or Digital Service Delivery.
• Proven experience managing digital products from concept through implementation and continuous improvement.
• Experience working in Agile product delivery environments.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams comprising business users, designers, architects, engineers and vendors.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms and enterprise system integration.
• Experience delivering AI-enabled digital products or intelligent automation initiatives will be an advantage.

Technical Knowledge

Candidates should possess good understanding of:

• Product Management methodologies
• Agile and Scrum delivery practices
• Cloud computing platforms and cloud-native architecture
• API management and enterprise integration
• Microservices and event-driven architectures
• Identity and Access Management (IAM)
