Job summary

RJC Group seeks an experienced Product Control Team Lead in Singapore to lead the product control function for an oil trading business. The role partners with Traders, Risk, Operations, Treasury and senior management to ensure robust P&L oversight, valuation and financial controls across physical and paper trading activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Product Control within oil/energy/commodities trading.
• Proven track record leading a Product Control team.
• Strong understanding of oil trading P&L, valuation, financial controls.
• Experience with physical and/or paper oil trading, including derivatives.
• Knowledge of commodities markets, trading products, valuation principles.
• Ability to work with senior Traders and Front Office stakeholders.
• Analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with process improvement, automation and control enhancement.
• Finance-related degree; ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CFA advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Product Control team for the oil trading business.
• Oversee daily P&L production, validation, attribution and reporting.
• Review trader P&L and MTM movements, including reserves and valuation adjustments.
• Partner with Front Office to understand trading strategies and P&L movements.
• Ensure controls around trade capture, valuation, and market data.
• Explain P&L movements to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Risk, Operations, Treasury on breaks and issues.
• Support month-end close, financial reporting and balance sheet controls.
• Drive process improvements, automation and reporting across Product Control.
• Identify and manage control risks in physical/derivatives trading.
• Act as senior contact for internal/external stakeholders.
• Coach and develop team, promote accountability and improvement culture.
