Job summary

Excel Precast Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design of complex precast concrete systems, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and cross-discipline coordination. You will mentor Design Engineers and contribute to optimizing design for production and installation efficiency.

This role requires collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver accurate, buildable solutions that meet project specs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design, preferably with precast systems.
• Proficiency in structural design software (STAAD/ETABS) and AutoCAD/BIM tools.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes/BS or local design codes and precast detailing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of precast structural systems for large-scale projects with safety and cost considerations.
• Plan and execute design activities aligned with project timelines and site progress.
• Prepare structural design calculations for precast elements and verify lifting/handling designs.
• Review and approve shop drawings and calculations from design engineers and drafters.
• Optimize precast designs for manufacturing, transport, and installation efficiency.
• Collaborate with external consultants and internal teams to resolve design inputs and ensure constructibility.
• Provide sketches and guidance to BIM Modelers for layout, shop drawings, and reinforcement detailing.
