Job summary

BTSE, via DGTL SG, seeks an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to design, deploy, and optimize high-availability PostgreSQL clusters in AWS. You will implement IaC, automation, and observability to power trading and analytics platforms.

You will focus on performance tuning, backup/recovery, 24/7 incident response, and collaboration with SRE/DevOps to ensure resilience and minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of PostgreSQL production experience.
• Strong SQL optimization and indexing knowledge.
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Experience supporting 24/7 production with on-call.
• Hands-on AWS: EC2, RDS, EBS, S3, IAM.
• PostgreSQL replication, PITR, and HA solutions (Patroni, Repmgr, ProxySQL).
• Terraform or Ansible for IaC/automation.
• Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python, Go).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain PostgreSQL clusters in AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Develop automation for provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring of PostgreSQL databases.
• Perform regular maintenance including vacuuming, reindexing, and statistics analysis for peak performance.
• Identify, analyze, and optimize slow SQL queries and workloads to improve efficiency.
• Build high-availability database architectures minimizing downtime during upgrades, maintenance, and failovers.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and uptime.
• Support and monitor 24/7 production systems, participating in incident response and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve scalability, performance, and CI/CD integration for database operations.
