Job summary

Weltec Controle Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to design, develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation projects. You will work on control logic, sequences, interlocks, alarms and PID control, and integrate PLCs with SCADA/HMI, third-party equipment, FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.

The role requires hands-on experience with Siemens and Schneider PLCs; Mitsubishi PLC and Schneider SmartX Controller are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant PLC experience on-site and off-site.
• Experience with Siemens and Schneider PLCs preferred; other brands considered.
• Experience with BMS control programming and system integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC control programs.
• Develop control logic, sequences, interlocks, permissives, alarms and PID control.

• Prepare documentation, software backups and as-built programs.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

About the role

This role involves designing, developing, modifying and troubleshooting PLC control programs for industrial automation systems. You will work on control logic, sequences, interlocks, permissives, alarms and PID control, while configuring PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFDs and industrial communication networks. The position includes integrating PLC systems with SCADA/HMI and third-party equipment, conducting factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.

• Configure PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFDs and industrial communication networks
• Integrate PLC systems with SCADA/HMI and third-party equipment

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in both on-site and off-site PLC
• Experience with Siemens PLC and Schneider PLC is preferred; experience with other PLC brands will also be considered
• Experience with Mitsubishi PLC and Schneider SmartX Controller is an added advantage but not compulsory
• Experience in BMS control programming and system integration
• Basic hands-on experience in developing, modifying, and updating AutoCAD drawings
• Ensure PLC programming follows project standards, safety requirements and good engineering practices
