Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer / SRE to join its Global Compute Engineering team. This hands-on role designs, builds, and optimises compute platforms powering data-intensive workloads across Linux, Python, Cloud, Ansible, and Terraform.

You will drive infrastructure-as-code initiatives, automation frameworks, observability, and internal tooling to improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity, while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform.
Experience with AWS and/or GCP cloud environments.
SRE mindset focused on automation and reliability.
Experience with Git-based development workflows.
Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus).

Responsibilities

Design and evolve scalable, high-performance compute platforms.
Build automation for provisioning, configuration, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Develop internal tools, APIs, and platform abstractions that simplify infrastructure operations.
Enhance observability across metrics, logs, and distributed tracing.
Partner with engineering teams to improve scalability, reliability, and security.
Support incident response and continuous platform improvement initiatives.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
