Job summary

F5 seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. You will build automation, tooling, and internal platforms to run a global, multi-datacenter infrastructure, spanning many PoPs.

The role emphasizes code-driven operations with Python and Go, Ansible automation, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service interfaces to reduce toil. You will operate in a PCI-DSS compliant environment with a 24x7 on-call rotation, contributing to reliable, scalable infrastructure across

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE/DevOps or Infra Engineering with strong coding and automation focus.
• Proficiency in Python, building CLIs, APIs, and automation frameworks.
• Expert Ansible skills: roles, modules, templating, large inventories.
• Solid Linux knowledge (RHEL/CentOS) for deep debugging and robust automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) for infra automation.
• Production self-hosted Kubernetes experience: cluster ops and controllers.
• AWS/Azure with IaC mindset; cloud resource provisioning via automation.
• API-driven infra management experience (RESTful, iLO/Redfish).
• Vault or equivalent secrets management; audit trails and drift detection.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal tools, CLIs, and APIs (Go/Python) for self-service infra and automation workflows.
• Integrate CMDB/IPAM, Vault, Proxmox, monitoring, and CI/CD into cohesive automations.
• Develop API clients for Proxmox, Vault, NetBox, iLO Redfish, and registries.
• Write well-tested, documented code with versioning and reviews.
• Architect and refactor Ansible roles across large data center inventories.
• Improve idempotency, error handling, and test coverage in Ansible codebase.
• Automate bare-metal server lifecycles end-to-end (iLO, OS, hypervisor, VM provisioning).
• Design and maintain GitLab CI pipelines for multi-stage deployments and canaries.
• Create reusable pipeline templates and CI components for infra changes.
• Automate Kubernetes cluster lifecycle and Helm/GitOps patterns.
• Develop IaC for AWS/Azure; hybrid cloud coordination.
• Instrument tooling with logging, metrics, and tracing; automate remediation.
