Job summary

ADVANCE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a hands-on Java Engineer to participate in the research, design and development of payment products.

You will evaluate new technologies and build rapid prototypes for fast-paced projects. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in CS/engineering and at least 3 years’ hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL and XML, plus HTML5 and modern JS frameworks, and familiarity with Spring, Kafka and Prometheus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science/engineering OR equivalent.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE/JEE, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL and XML.
• Experience with HTML5 and modern JS frameworks (Angular.js or React.js).
• Familiar with Spring 5.x, Spring Boot & Spring Cloud; open source tech like Kafka and gRPC.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (EFK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Domain knowledge of Financial Clearing and Payment Systems is a plus.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; good decision making.
• Strong verbal and written communication; good teamwork and attitude.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the research, design and development of payment products.
• Evaluate new software development technologies and build rapid prototypes for fast-paced projects.
• Identify and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Commit to on-time delivery and high quality.
• Report status and progress to Technical Lead / Manager on a regular basis.
