The role requires a degree or diploma in IT, 2+ years in IT operations or a command center, and the ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on IT operations or Command Center experience.
• Technical: Familiarity with Mainframe, AS/400, UNIX/Linux, Windows systems.
• Tools: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Language: Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Soft skills: Team player, good interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure.
• Shift readiness: Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts per SOP.

• Monitor various monitoring facilities for software and hardware and respond to exceptions per SOP.
• Monitor application job flow scheduled by job scheduling software and respond to exceptions.
• Perform reports printing and distribution.
• Manage IT-related incidents and problems reported via phone or email.
• Maintain incident logs for incidents and problems across software, hardware and apps.
• Perform job submission, backup, recovery and restart per SOP or ad-hoc requests.
• Provide first-level system and batch problem determination and escalation as needed.

Job Description

A team of computer operators, performing 24 x 7 shift duty on rotation, responsible for running day-to-day computer operations and performing helpdesk functions in our Data Centre which runs multi-platform systems on Mainframe, AS/400, UNIX, WinNT, etc, running Production and Development environments.

• Monitor various monitoring facilities for software and hardware including operating systems, application systems, ATM and network equipment, and react to exceptions in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor application job flow which are scheduled by job scheduling software, and react to exceptions in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures
• Perform reports printing and distribution
• Manage IT-related incidents and problems reported via phone call or e-mail from UOB staff
• Maintain Incident Logs for incidents and problems for all software, hardware and applications being monitoring
• Perform job submission, backup, recovery and restart in accordance to SOP or approved ad-hoc requests
• Perform first-level system and batch problem determination and resolution only, and escalation to second and third levels in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures.

Job Requirements

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT operations or Command Center environment
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with one or more of the IT systems - Mainframe, AS/400, UNIX/Linux, Windows
• Tools: Working experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Language: Fluency in both spoken and written English
• Soft Skills: Good interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team player, and remain calm under pressure
• Shift Readiness: Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts following a structured pattern (e.g. three consecutive workdays followed by two days off, then two workdays followed by another two days off).
• Additional Requirements: Develop, Engage, Execute, Role Type (GTO), Strategise, Work Experience Level for GTO CWF
