  • Facilitate reviews on occurrence reports.
  • Monitor budget and expenditure.
  • Plan schedule for efficient use of skill mix.
  • Ensure clinical policies and procedures are in line.
  • Provide leadership in recruitment, selection, development and retention of nurses.

Senior Nurse Manager (Operating Theatre)

Provide Nursing leadership, management and direction in regard to setting and maintaining quality standards, staff development and resource management in daily operation of the unit. The Senior Nurse Manager has an overall accountability for the standard of patient care, appropriate matching of nurse competence to patient need, occupational health and safety of the staff, and clinical risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Set unit goals and objectives in consultation with clinical team.
  • Responsible for induction process, competency assessment, staff learning needs and plans for nurses’ career progression.
  • Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care and make appropriate changes in nursing care delivery.
  • Facilitate reviews on occurrence reports and ensure plans are implemented to prevent future occurrences.
  • Monitor budget and expenditure to ensure efficient and effective use of consumables.
  • Plan schedule to ensure efficient use of adequate skill mix in proportion to patient acuity and census.
  • Ensure that the system clinical policies and procedures are in line.
  • Engage in systems level thinking and its application to a variety of situations and contexts.
  • Provide leadership in the recruitment, selection, development and retention of nurses in partnership with the nursing team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Min Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferably with post graduate qualifications in Perioperative or Perianaesthesia Nursing.
  • Registered with Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Possess relevant experiences in a similar job capacity.
