Job summary

Ad Astra Consultants seeks a Senior Systems Engineer (Network) to lead design, deployment and operation of enterprise networks and data centre infrastructure. The role covers planning, project management and 24x7 on-call support to ensure high availability and performance of systems, services and applications.

Candidates should have 5+ years in network/DC facilities, strong knowledge of routing protocols, security devices and network management tools, with vendor coordination and documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in supporting, maintaining and implementing Network and/or Data Centre Facilities Management (Cisco/Aruba network devices, Cisco ACI) technical administration and support.
• Excellent understanding of common network technologies, including TCP/IP, IPsec, VRRP, HSRP, SNMP, NAT, Multicast, Sub-netting, Ethernet, Access-lists.
• In-Depth Working Knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, MPLS.
• Familiar with setup and configuration of network security devices such as firewalls, WAN optimisers, VPNs and authentication servers.
• Proven working knowledge of high availability Network Security devices (Checkpoint, Cisco Firepower, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
• Proven knowledge of DNS, time synchronization, Proxy, F5 Load Balancers, Infoblox, RSA.
• Proven knowledge in switch and router configuration, including storage switch configurations.
• Monitor & measure performance & availability of network devices; implement corrective actions for performance and capacity planning.
• Experience on Network Management platforms (MRTG, Cisco ISE, AlgoSec, etc.).

The Senior Systems Engineer (Network) will be responsible for the planning, project management and deployment, administration and operations support for network to ensure that systems, services and applications are performing optimally to meet customer, user, and company expectations.

This technical role covers the following work areas:
