Job summary

HI5 CONSULTING SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement and monitor secure network architectures for clients.

You will apply expertise in TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs and routing/switching to keep networks resilient against threats. The role requires fundamentals in application security and the ability to interpret HTTP status codes and WAF violations. Hands-on experience with vendors such as Palo Alto, Check Point, Trend Micro, Fortinet and F5 is preferred, along

Qualifications

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs and routing/switching.
• Foundational application security knowledge incl. HTTP status codes and WAF violations.
• Experience with security devices from major vendors is a plus.
• CCNA/CCNP certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching.
• Advise on remediation for HTTP status codes and WAF violations.
• Utilize security appliances from Palo Alto, Check Point, Trend Micro, Fortinet and F5.
• Support SIEM and NPM solutions in monitoring networks.
• Follow network security best practices and tools.
• Demonstrate problem solving under pressure and willingness to learn.
• Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Pursue relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP) when feasible.

Job description

As a Network Security Engineer, you will need to:

1. Possess knowledge on networking protocols and technologies like TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching.
2. Possess fundamental application security knowledge like interpretation of HTTP response status codes and WAF violations. Higher proficiency in application security knowledge to advice on remediation measures is an added advantage, but not mandatory.
3. Be proficient with network equipment from vendors like Palo Alto, Check Point, Trend Micro, Fortinet and F5.
4. Experience in solutions that supports the primary job tasks, like Network Performance Monitoring (NPM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
5. Understanding of network security best practices and tools.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Willingness to learn.
7. Fundamental skills on Microsoft Office products like Word and Excel.
8. Additional certifications like CCNA, CCNP or product (with reference to products listed above) certifications are a plus.
