Job summary

ENCORA TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Network Security Engineer to execute critical tasks across firewalls, IPS, proxies, and WAFs. You will monitor system performance, maintain security controls, and generate detailed reports to guide security decisions.

The role requires hands-on knowledge of networking protocols and vendor devices, plus willingness to provide after-hours support and data-driven insights to strengthen the organisation's security posture.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing/switching).
• Fundamental app security knowledge; interpret HTTP status codes and WAF violations.
• Proficiency with vendor network devices (Palo Alto, Check Point, Trend Micro, Fortinet, F5).
• Experience with NPM and SIEM solutions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor performance of security systems and maintain them to optimal standards.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Analyze WAF violations and provide detailed insights to enhance security posture.
• Prepare data, tabulations and reports to support decision making, including off-hours support when needed.

Job description

As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for executing critical operational tasks across a comprehensive suite of network security solutions, encompassing but not limited to, network firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), proxies, and web application firewalls (WAF). Your core responsibilities will include monitoring system performance, maintaining security solutions to optimal standards, and employing advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex network issues. You will play a crucial role in analysing and providing detailed insights on WAF violations, contributing to the organisation's security posture. The position requires flexibility for post office-hours activation to provide essential support and troubleshooting services. Additionally, you will be tasked with conducting thorough data tabulation and generating comprehensive reports to support decision-making processes and security assessments.

Experience And Skill Needed

• a) Possess knowledge on networking protocols and technologies like TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching.
• b) Possess fundamental application security knowledge like interpretation of HTTP response status codes and WAF violations. Higher proficiency in application security knowledge to advice on remediation measures is an added advantage, but not mandatory.
• c) Be proficient with network equipment from vendors like Palo Alto, Check Point, Trend Micro, Fortinet and F5.
• d) Experience in solutions that supports the primary job tasks, like Network Performance Monitoring (NPM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
• e) Understanding of network security best practices and tools.
• f) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Willingness to learn.
• g) Fundamental skills on Microsoft Office products like Word and Excel.
• h) Additional certifications like CCNA, CCNP or product (with reference to products listed above) certifications are a plus.
