Job summary

BCS is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to oversee network operations, security, and overall infrastructure reliability. You will manage production, DR, and test environments, perform capacity planning, and drive improvements across routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related technologies.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in IT/CS and at least 8 years of hands-on experience in financial or mission-critical settings, with strong analytical skills and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience in managing network and security equipment such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VPN.
• Load Balancer, DNS, NAC in financial institutions or mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-level network support and resolve incidents and problems in accordance with the SLA.
• Perform problem diagnosis on incidents and propose & implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Schedule and release network system changes to production environment in accordance with the change management process/procedures.
• Present and articulate change requests in CAB or CAMC.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library.
• Perform infrastructure system and network capacity monitoring and planning.
• Implement the underlying processes supporting IT service management, in conformance to corporate security policies and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain technical and process documents to upkeep IT infrastructure.

Team and Position Summary

The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, PayNow, SGQR, TFR, eGIRO and its critical infrastructure, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.The Infrastructure Services Team under Technology ensures the resilience, security, and high-performance of BCS’ technology infrastructure across various functions of service monitoring, incident management, and technical support. The team ensures seamless operation, maintenance, and strategic growth of core infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, middleware, and databases.The Senior Network Engineer will report to the Network Manager and is responsible for the daily management of BCS’ network operations, ensuring its alignment with organisational growth and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Network Administration

• Perform network administration in a heterogeneous environment (production, DR, test) comprising of network and security equipment, telecommunication links
• Perform hardening, upgrade and enhancement on IT infrastructure components
• Monitor, assess, schedule and implement network, and product-specific security vulnerability patches
• Monitor obsolescence of IT infrastructure components (network systems)
• Monitor expiry and perform renewal of network system password and certificates
• Implement network backups operations to ensure data recoverability and business continuity
• Execute disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure (network systems) and conduct regular disaster recovery (DR) testing and component switchover exercises to ensure usability of standby and DR equipment
  

Project Management and Support

• Provide system and network support for projects in accordance with the project timeline
• Manage infrastructure enhancement and projects in accordance with established project management guidelines

Incident and Problem Management

• Provide second-level network support and resolve incidents and problems in accordance with the established Service Level Agreement (SLA)
• Perform problem diagnosis on incidents and propose & implement measures to prevent recurrence

Change and Release Management

• Schedule and release network system changes to production environment in accordance with the change management process/ procedures

Configuration Management

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/ library of all IT infrastructure components used in the production environment

Capacity and Performance Management

• Perform infrastructure system and network capacity monitoring and planning
• Monitor and perform performance tuning to optimize network performance

Process Management

• Implement the underlying processes supporting IT service management, in conformance to corporate security policies and guidelines

Documentation

• Develop and maintain technical and process documents to upkeep IT infrastructure

Requirements

Education and Experience
