Job summary

ETHOS SEARCH ASSOCIATES PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced System-Level Test engineer in Singapore to own SLT debugging for customer-return and factory-reported failures.

You will analyze boot issues and system crashes, collect logs and firmware traces, and work with cross-functional teams to improve diagnostics and test coverage. The role requires hands-on testing of x86 platforms, BIOS/UEFI experience, and proficiency with Linux and languages like Python or C/C++.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in system-level test development, execution or debugging.
• Strong knowledge of x86 architecture, boot flow and device interfaces.
• Experience with BIOS/UEFI, firmware initialization, POST-code interpretation, serial-console debug and OS boot troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Linux command line and at least one language: Python, C/C++, Perl or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Own or lead System Level Test (SLT) debugging for customer-return, qualification and factory-reported failures.
• Analyze boot failures, POST errors, hangs, resets, crashes, performance issues and reliability failures.
• Collect and interpret serial-console output, firmware traces, event logs, kernel logs and crash data.
• Generate hypotheses and design experiments to validate observed failures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve SLT coverage, diagnostics, automation and test stability.
• Prepare clear technical reports and communicate conclusions, risk and recommended actions to engineering and management.
• Lead cross-functional technical initiatives and mentor engineers in system-debug and root-cause methods.
