Job summary

Lenovo is seeking a seasoned DBA to manage DB2 and MSSQL estate across PROD, DR and UAT in Singapore. You will ensure high availability, perform security self-assessments, design Always On Availability Groups, implement TDE, and lead backup/recovery strategies.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams and a focus on standards will drive platform improvements. You will also handle vulnerability remediation, patching, and capacity planning while mentoring junior engineers and documenting policies

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on DBA experience with DB2 and MSSQL.
• Proven experience building and supporting Always On Availability Groups in production.
• Hands-on experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and encryption key management.
• Experience developing and applying database hardening standards and security policies.
• Strong backup and recovery, migration, cloning, and patching experience.
• Strong troubleshooting for integrity, performance, blocking, deadlocking, connectivity and security issues.

Responsibilities

• Keep DB2 and MSSQL databases highly available and reliable across PROD, DR, and UAT.
• Perform daily health checks, routine maintenance and security self-assessments.
• Design, build, and maintain MSSQL Always On Availability Groups and perform failover testing.
• Define backup, restore and DR strategy and test regularly.
• Plan capacity and lead performance tuning using monitoring data.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and conduct vulnerability remediation.
• Lead root-cause analysis with users and vendors during incidents.
• Collaborate with Server, Data Center and Network teams on changes and incidents.
• Document database policies, architecture, runbooks, and topology diagrams.
• Mentor junior engineers and set database standards and best practices.
