Job summary

NEWTONE CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support mission-critical production systems in a secure 24/7 environment.

You will ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of MSSQL Server and MongoDB platforms, collaborating with infrastructure, system, software, and security teams. The role covers Level 2/3 production support, high-availability setups, backup and disaster recovery, performance tuning, deployments, data migrations, security

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of hands-on DBA experience in enterprise production environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server (Always On, HA) and MongoDB (Replica Sets).
• Experience supporting 24/7 mission-critical systems and Severity 1 incidents.
• Familiarity with database deployment, data patching and release management.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• ITIL operations familiarity; virtualization/containers a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments (government) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 production support for MSSQL and MongoDB, incl. incident response.
• Manage high availability environments (SQL Server Always On, MongoDB Replica Sets).
• Perform backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, DR testing.
• Monitor and optimize DB performance via tuning and indexing.
• Support deployments, releases, migrations, and post-deployment validation.
• Implement security, access controls, auditing, vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain SOPs and compliance with government security standards.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support for critical incidents.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to support mission-critical production systems in a secure 24/7 environment. You will be responsible for the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB platforms, working closely with infrastructure, system, software, and security teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Day 2 (L2/L3) production support for MSSQL and MongoDB, including incident response and root cause analysis.
• Manage high availability environments including SQL Server Always On and MongoDB Replica Sets.
• Perform database administration, backup & recovery, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery testing.
• Monitor and optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Support application deployments, database releases, data migrations, and post-deployment validation.
• Implement database security, access controls, auditing, and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and support compliance with government security standards.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support for critical production incidents.

Requirements

• 5-8+ years of hands-on DBA experience supporting enterprise production environments.
