Job summary
A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES in Singapore seeks a Senior Research Scientist with a strong foundation in motion control of automation systems. You will lead development of precision motion solutions for high-speed, high-accuracy semiconductor manufacturing equipment, translating complex control theories into deployable systems and guiding cross-functional teams through design, prototyping and deployment.
The ideal candidate holds a PhD and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with hands-on experience in
Qualifications
- PhD in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics with motion control specialization.
- 3–5 years of work experience or similar in precision motion control.
- Hands-on experience applying control theories to real-world systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead industry engagement to identify motion control requirements.
- Architect automation systems for high-speed, high-accuracy applications.
- Execute full design lifecycle from concept to deployment and testing.
- Apply theories and tools like MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and prototyping.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
