A*STAR Research Entities in Singapore seeks a motivated research scientist to develop high-precision motion systems for automated semiconductor equipment. You will model, simulate and control motion systems to achieve coordinated, accurate operation.

Responsibilities include designing motion control algorithms and implementing learning-based control methods with hardware-in-the-loop, and collaborating with hardware teams to integrate subsystems.

Competenze

• PhD in Electrical, Control or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Strong background in control theory and digital control techniques.

Mansioni

• Design and develop motion control algorithms for complex precision motion systems.
• Implement learning-based control methods (reinforcement learning, Bayesian optimization).
• Use MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, dSPACE, Speedgoat to simulate and control systems.
• Perform system-level simulations to optimize performance and stability.
• Develop test procedures for motion control systems to meet performance requirements.
• Work with hardware teams to integrate control with mechanical and electrical subsystems.
• Optimize motion trajectories for precision, speed and energy efficiency.
