ByteDance is seeking a PhD-level research engineer to advance large-scale multimodal ML systems. You will contribute to the design of training and inference engines, and collaborate across teams on cutting-edge AI research across recommendation, advertising, CV, speech, and NLP domains.

The role emphasizes deep technical expertise in distributed systems, ML frameworks, and backend development, with a strong emphasis on research impact and scalable cloud-native solutions.

Formación

• PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in one or more languages (C/C++/Go/Python/Java) on Linux.
• Strong distributed-systems knowledge with design, development and maintenance experience.
• Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop large-scale distributed systems and ML infrastructure.
• Research multimodal recommendation and coordination with cross-team initiatives.
• Design and implement training and inference frameworks on PyTorch/TensorFlow.
• Contribute to documentation and technical processes.
