Job summary

Good Job Creations (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our clinic and laboratory operations. You will perform specimen reception, processing, and testing, including CBC, HbA1c, urine microscopy, and point-of-care tasks.

The role requires a medical laboratory science degree and strong communication skills. You will work in a fast-paced setting with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related discipline.
• Clinical laboratory experience preferred; training provided.
• Experience in phlebotomy and heel-prick sampling an added advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with problem-solving skills.
• Multitasking ability and professional patient-focused approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation and packaging.
• Conduct laboratory testing including urine microscopy, CBC, HbA1c and other analyses.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments per standards.
• Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG and spirometry procedures.
• Verify, validate and report test results accurately within turnaround times.
• Investigate and document testing anomalies or irregularities.
• Conduct daily quality control checks and ensure laboratory standards compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and quality control logs for traceability.
• Address patient enquiries professionally and escalate complex issues when required.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection prevention in the workplace.
• Provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth clinic and lab operations.

Job description

• Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation, and packaging in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct laboratory testing, including urine microscopy, full blood count, HbA1c, and other assigned analyses.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments according to work instructions and quality standards.
• Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG, and spirometry procedures.
• Verify, validate, and report test results accurately and within required turnaround times.
• Investigate, document, and elevate testing anomalies or irregularities as appropriate.
• Conduct daily quality control checks and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation, maintenance records, and quality control logs for traceability purposes.
• Address patient enquiries professionally and elevate complex issues when required.
• Adhere to workplace safety, laboratory safety, and infection prevention and control protocols.
• Provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth clinic and laboratory operations.

Requirements:

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in a clinical laboratory environment is preferred. Training will be provided.
• Experience in phlebotomy and heel-prick sample collection is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage challenging situations professionally while maintaining a patient-focused approach.
• Able to multitask and work effectively under tight timelines.
• Strong team player with good interpersonal relationship skills.
• Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is an added advantage.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality standards.
