Job summary

Our client, a leading medical devices manufacturer in Singapore's East region, is seeking an accomplished R&D Design Engineer to drive mechanical design from concept through prototyping to final release.

You will convert product requirements into robust designs, develop precision mechanisms, create and review 3D CAD models and drawings, lead design reviews and risk assessments, and collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure design for manufacturability and successful transfer to

Qualifications

• Min diploma or degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
• At least 6 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience in medical devices or regulated product development is a plus.
• Hands-on design, mechanism development and prototyping.
• Familiar with Creo/SolidWorks and design controls.

Responsibilities

• Convert product requirements into mechanical designs, specs, drawings and BOMs.
• Develop precision mechanisms, assemblies and components.
• Create and review 3D CAD models, drawings, GD&T and tolerances.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments and FMEA.
• Apply DFM/DFA, cost, manufacturability and serviceability considerations.
• Develop prototypes and perform engineering tests.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and suppliers on feasibility and tooling.
• Support design transfer to manufacturing.
• Lead projects from concept to release.
• Maintain design records and documentation.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and ensure compliance with ISO 13485.
• Perform ad-hoc duties.
