Job summary

Flowserve seeks a Mechatronics Sr. Engineer to join its innovation team in Budapest, contributing to hardware and software development for advanced mechatronic and digital solutions.

You will work with globally distributed teams on concept design, proof-of-concept, and new product development, including electronics hardware and control systems. The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of experience, strong English skills (B2), and willingness to travel ~20%.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics or similar with 4+ years of experience
• Experience in technology and innovation, exploring advanced tech for commercialization
• Experience in developing and commercializing new products or solutions with differentiating tech
• Experience in research and innovation activities; design thinking is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork across functions
• Ability to work in a multinational/multicultural environment with travel ~20%
• English level B2 or better
• Experience with measurement electronics development
• Experience with embedded hardware integration
• Experience with modern microcontroller tech and architecture
• Experience with modern motor and drive tech
• Experience with drive and process control theories
• Experience with field bus technologies and protocols
• Experience with leading development projects
• Experience with circuit and PCB design tools
• Experience with electronics product certification (EMC, LVD)

Responsibilities

• Apply and expand technical knowledge in complex projects involving mechatronics and digital solutions
• Expand knowledge by attending trade fairs and visiting partners and Flowserve teams
• Analyze state-of-the-art technologies for potential solutions
• Analyze existing mechatronic products to optimize and enhance
• Consult and support distributed development teams on mechatronics and digital projects
• Be responsible for proof-of-concept systems and value technology projects
• Develop and validate electronics hardware concepts
• Evaluate feasibility using SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink
• Design modular concepts for partner hardware development
• Develop enterprise hardware platform guidelines and architecture
• Support partner electronics hardware development
• Develop proof-of-concept industrial drive and low-power electronics
• Collaborate with global electronics and digital product teams
